The Howard County Chapter of Healthcare is a Human Right – Maryland is sponsoring a free showing of the award winning documentary, THE HEALTHCARE MOVIE.

Time: 6:30 PM

Date: Wednesday, February 12th

Place: East Branch of Howard County Library, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD 21045

The movie compares the Canadian and American Healthcare Systems, which were virtually identical in the 1960’s but took very different paths.  Through a long (but inspiring) struggle, Canada got a government funded universal healthcare system similar to our Medicare except that it covers everyone; while America has increasingly turned it’s healthcare system over to private for profit corporations.  The differences in coverage, cost and outcomes is eye opening.

The movie lasts 65 minutes and we will follow it with a group discussion about the movie and a report on the Healthcare is a Human Right – Maryland campaign.  Refreshments will be served.
